Sense of humor failure...........

Yes, I did have a sense of humor failure!
I flew back to freezing rainy and windy Berlin the beginning of March, once I received the results back from the CT scan done in January. They detected lung cancer and asked me to return for a PET/CT scan, which I did.

A strange feeling the 'stuff / die' they inject whilst inside the machine. I felt my entire body heating up, tingling and feeling sick. Thankfully this only lasted a couple of minutes. A couple of days later, I met Professor Dr. med Rueckert for the first time. Up until then I had only been in email and phone contact with him. What a charming ( busy ) man. He was interrupted every couple of minutes, which was frustrating. I guess there are a lot of people with Lung cancer around. He took his time to explain that it appeared I had three tumors on my right hand lung. They could not be sure at this stage if it was 'Lung cancer' or 'metastasis from the my Breast cancer'. I am not sure which one is worse or better. Cancer is cancer right? Not quite.........
They had also found 'something' on my left side in one of the Lymph nodes, but for that I will be referred back to the Breastcancer Professor Dr. med Blohmer later next month.

Something that hit the core with  me, where the Professor's words:
'I can buy you a little time with the operation, but unless you change your life completely and re-assess what you do, how you do it, when you do it, etc, the cancer is likely to return, we cut it our again and again, until your body gives up'. Woh! What a statement. I really thought I was doing everything right, but in fairness thinking about it, I had been concentrating on my diet.

We agreed that I would fly home for a few days to get my life organised and then fly back for a lung operation, where he would attempt to remove the three tumors. Apparently one was in a 'tricky' place.

Can't wait!
